We are seeking a dedicated LPN or RN Charge Nurse to become a vital part of our team at Carespring Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Compensation: $28 to $40 per hour (up to $46.00 with shift differential)


The LPN or RN Charge Nurse will assist the Nursing Supervisor in overseeing comprehensive patient care within the nursing unit and managing unit operations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative and patient care support
  • Supervise and mentor STNAs
  • Ensure compliance with departmental policies among personnel, medical staff, patients, and visitors
  • Work within the designated unit as directed by the D.O.N., A.D.O.N., or Supervisor
  • Review the 24-hour report sheet for updates in patient care requirements
  • Conduct walking rounds and supervise nursing assistant care
  • Administer medications (including IV) and treatments as per physician's orders
  • Address the spiritual and psychological needs of patients using available resources
  • Facilitate and oversee the patient admission and discharge processes
  • Communicate effectively with oncoming staff during shift changes
  • Take and transcribe physician orders accurately
  • Handle telephone inquiries professionally
  • Assess patient care needs and enhance existing individual care plans
  • Manage patient admissions in the absence of the documentation nurse
  • Verify and transcribe physician orders and pre-admission information
  • Coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic needs both inside and outside the facility
  • Order medications and treatments as necessary
  • Communicate patient dietary needs effectively
  • Complete all required admission paperwork
  • Oversee patient transfers and discharges
  • Arrange transportation for patients
  • Maintain communication with family members or responsible parties
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is completed
  • Maintain accurate records in the electronic medical record system
  • Guide and assist with the cleaning and maintenance of equipment
  • Foster communication with all departments
  • Ensure the overall safety and cleanliness of the unit
  • Welcome and direct visitors to the unit

Qualifications:
  • A valid nursing license in the state of Ohio
  • Completion of required continuing education hours
  • Good physical and mental health
  • A positive attitude and a passion for elderly care
  • Willingness to perform non-professional duties as needed
  • Ability to remain calm and take charge in emergency situations
  • Commitment to prioritizing patient needs
