Job Overview

The Business Analyst plays a pivotal role within the information technology division of CoreSite, focusing on the evaluation of business workflows and the extraction of requirements from diverse and occasionally conflicting business sectors. This position entails overseeing project management and/or fulfilling the responsibilities of a Scrum Master for designated initiatives, ensuring that collected requirements are effectively transitioned through development and implemented successfully.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of existing and prospective business processes to identify technical solutions, perform cost-benefit analyses, and develop scope estimations.
  • Facilitate requirement gathering through process workshops, discovery sessions, and backlog refinement, translating findings into precise and actionable epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Provide guidance to business stakeholders on best practices for platform utilization and feature adoption in collaboration with technical leads and the Enterprise Solution Architect.
  • Assume the role of Scrum Master and/or Project Manager, leading agile ceremonies, formulating project plans, communicating project status organization-wide, and orchestrating end-to-end User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
  • Prioritize and monitor all issues, risks, action items, and decisions to resolution, escalating as necessary to ensure project success.
  • Develop and maintain process and project documentation utilizing Confluence/Box.
  • Manage change effectively in areas impacted by development activities and assess system changes for potential downstream effects.
  • Establish and nurture productive working relationships with key internal clients and team members.
  • Stay updated on relevant systems and techniques, including evaluating hardware and software, and assist in the research, evaluation, and selection of new system software.
  • Adhere to Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and compliance requirements.
  • Exemplify and promote behaviors aligned with CoreSite's culture and values.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide training and support for assigned applications/software and various reporting systems.
  • Engage in Quality Assurance and Quality Control practices, standards, methodologies, and metrics related to assignments.
  • Quickly adapt to and utilize proposed third-party vendor tools.
  • Conduct audits on system and process effectiveness.
  • Undertake other projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to excel in a hybrid work environment requiring at least two onsite days per week.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of interacting at both technical and business levels across all organizational tiers.
  • Proficient documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with business analysis techniques for gathering and visualizing solution and technical requirements, including process flowcharts, GAP analysis, data flow diagrams, mind maps, and entity-relationship diagrams (ERD).
  • Competence in data collection and analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Rally, or similar tools for team delivery orchestration is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in managing small to medium-sized projects.
  • Knowledge of MuleSoft or Enterprise Integration Strategies is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce CPQ application is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new applications and operating systems.
  • Solid understanding of information and systems technology, including computer network systems and various telecommunications systems.
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience, including at least two (2) years supporting various business software and two (2) years in IT systems implementations as a Business Subject Matter Expert or Product Owner.
  • Experience with Salesforce is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with various project delivery methodologies and the ability to apply necessary processes for project success.
  • Salesforce certification(s) are a plus (Administrator, Business Analyst, Advanced Administrator).
  • Proven experience using and supporting both developed and purchased business applications.
  • Experience discussing technical and non-technical issues depending on the audience.
  • Proven ability to maintain focus on troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and organizing work activities to meet deadlines for oneself and teams.

Compensation:

The compensation for this position includes a base salary range of $75,000 to $90,000 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus and equity based on individual and company performance.
