Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the innovation, definition, and strategic roadmap for A/B testing and recommendation experiments to enhance story discovery and subscription growth.
  • Utilize advanced algorithms, machine learning principles, and recommendation systems to boost user engagement and satisfaction across our mobile platforms.
  • Formulate and implement the product strategy for personalization features across our Inkitt, Galatea, and GalateaTV applications, ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives and creating tailored experiences for our audience.
  • Guide a small, cross-functional team in exploring, executing, and refining exceptional search and recommendation functionalities.
  • With a comprehensive understanding of user needs and challenges, collaborate with our Data Science team to establish a long-term strategic roadmap, advocating for customer interests at all times.
  • Set performance metrics and make informed product and strategic decisions based on A/B testing results and qualitative insights.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in product management, particularly in developing or overseeing data-driven software solutions.
  • Expertise in one or more of the following domains: search technologies, recommendation systems, user personalization, data analytics, statistical analysis, machine learning, information architecture, and consumer behavior.
  • Experience in developing or managing data-driven software products.
  • Startup mentality: You are proactive and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
  • Creative problem solver: You have a knack for identifying business challenges or product shortcomings and devising innovative solutions. A passion for designing and creating impactful products is essential.
  • Technical proficiency: You possess a solid understanding of the mechanics behind recommendation systems.
  • Empathy: You have a deep understanding of our readers, writers, engineers, designers, and business stakeholders.
  • Location: Onsite in San Francisco, CA.

The annual base salary range for this position is $70,000—$360,000 USD. Compensation will be determined by skill level, proficiencies, and experience.
