Role Overview:

The Senior Web Solutions Engineer will play a crucial role in the Tactical Space Systems Division, focusing on the development and deployment of satellite ground software for end users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with stakeholders to comprehend business requirements and technical specifications.
  • Design and implement high-level architectural frameworks for scalable, secure, and efficient web solutions.
  • Mentor teams in developing client and server web components to ensure a highly responsive user experience within a service-oriented, message-driven architecture.
  • Guide the selection of frameworks, libraries, tools, and design patterns to enhance current and future development initiatives.
  • Oversee code evaluations and ensure compliance with best practices and coding standards.
  • Optimize web application performance and address issues as they arise.
  • Remain informed about industry trends and advancements in web technologies.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 7 years of relevant experience, or a PhD with 4 years of relevant experience. Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring teams in the design, implementation, and deployment of web-based software products.
  • Proven expertise in creating highly responsive web applications that support significant data streaming use cases.
  • Extensive experience with two or more server-side web technologies and familiarity with frameworks such as Django, Phoenix, JAVA Spring, and Flask.
  • Experience with two or more client-side web technologies and familiarity with frameworks such as React, Angular, and Svelte.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., OpenStack, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cybersecurity considerations and standards for web-based architectures.
  • Experience in software build automation, continuous integration, configuration management, verification, and deployment.
  • Experience developing satellite ground software for spacecraft missions, including Command and Control, Mission Planning, Visualization, and/or Astrodynamics.
  • Familiarity with user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles.
  • Proficiency with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket).
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
