Job Summary

We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Construction Materials Testing Technician to perform inspections and testing of various materials, including soils, concrete, and asphalt, for industrial, commercial, residential, or municipal projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction materials and testing procedures, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately perform inspections and testing of various materials, including soils, concrete, and asphalt, for industrial, commercial, residential, or municipal projects.
  • Read and interpret design drawings and construction specifications.
  • Observe work procedures and verify compliance with job specifications.
  • Create and submit accurate and detailed inspection reports and test data sheets.
  • Interact and communicate with general contractors, site supervisors, architects, structural engineers, and client representatives.
  • Obtain certifications, such as ACI, ICC, and NCDOT, as required.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, Associates, Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • 3-10 years of experience performing onsite inspections and testing of various materials.
  • Working knowledge of mathematics, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry, and ability to apply mathematical formulas and engineering principles to determine field adjustments.
  • Proficient in the use of iPads, Microsoft Office, and other software applications.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting, with an attention to detail and quality-minded focus.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and up to 90 pounds on occasion.
  • Ability to walk over rough and uneven terrain and stand for up to 8 hours on a normal day and up to 12 hours on occasion.
