Job Opportunity: Construction Materials Technician

S&ME, Inc. is seeking a skilled Construction Materials Technician to join our team in Raleigh. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of construction materials used in various projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field and laboratory tests on construction materials such as soil, concrete, and asphalt to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Review plans and specifications to ensure on-site testing aligns with project requirements.
  • Use advanced tools to record and report testing results.
  • Calibrate testing equipment to meet industry standards for accuracy.
  • Conduct special inspections to guarantee regulatory compliance and quality.
  • Communicate effectively with project teams, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth collaboration and project success.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials or equivalent experience and an associate degree in a related field.
  • Effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language.
  • Any of the following certifications are a plus: American Concrete Institute (ACI), International Code Council (ICC), or DOT Certifications in the fields of Aggregate, Conventional Density, Asphalt, and Concrete.
