Civil Materials Testing Technician

Job Summary: Atlas Technical Consultants is seeking a skilled Civil Materials Testing Technician to join our Raleigh, NC team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing field and laboratory testing of construction materials, monitoring construction activities, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform field and laboratory testing of construction materials (soils, concrete, steel, asphalt)
  • Monitor construction activities at active construction sites
  • Sample collection and logging
  • Act as the field representative of the Project Engineer
  • Coordinate between contractors and ATC Engineers
  • Complete reports in a timely manner
  • Act as ATC's primary representative at construction sites
  • Abide by ATC's health and safety policies and procedures
  • Drive company or personal vehicle in accordance with company policy

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience desired
  • Good Computer Skills
  • Valid driver's license and excellent driving record
  • Commitment to safety
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds of weight and work in a construction environment during hot and cold weather
  • Positive Attitude and willingness to learn

Technical Requirements:
  • Microsoft PC applications; WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint
  • Performing field and laboratory testing of construction materials (soils, concrete, steel, asphalt)
  • Monitoring construction activities at active construction sites
  • ACI/NICET/ICC Certification in soils, Concrete or Masonry a plus
  • Experience around construction and construction sites a plus
  • Friendly personal presentation

Other miscellaneous qualities:
  • Ability to travel 40% of the time
  • Ability to perform moderately strenuous tasks
  • Drive company or personal vehicle in accordance with company policy
