About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Radiographer to join our team on a per diem basis, working weekend evenings. As a Radiographer, you will be responsible for producing high-quality radiologic images in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of radiographic imaging procedures, including general radiography, fluoroscopy, and portable imaging.
  • Provide radiation protection by placing and adjusting lead shields and collimating in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
  • Assist radiologists, speech pathologists, and surgeons in their respective areas with room preparation, exam completion, and room turnover.
  • Maintain knowledge of Radiation Safety, Hospital, and Departmental Policies, and attend staff meetings and in-services as required.
  • Mentor and assist in the training of Radiologic Technologist students and new staff in performing Radiologic exams, sterile technique, and proper stocking of supplies in radiographic rooms.
  • Participate in the quality assurance plan for the Diagnostic Imaging program and participate in the research and development of new exams and protocols.
  • Enter accurate charges into the EMR for all exams and ensure that all exams are of high quality and available for interpretation in a timely fashion.
  • Follow the workflow plan developed by the supervisor and lead technologist and monitor equipment performance, taking appropriate measures to resolve any issues.
  • Consistently demonstrate effective communication, both written and verbal, with all departmental, hospital staff, and vendors.

Qualifications
  • Graduated from an approved program in Radiologic Sciences.
  • Current Massachusetts state license as a Radiologic technologist.
  • Current ARRT registry in Radiologic Sciences.
  • New graduates must obtain ARRT certification within 1 year of start of employment.
  • Current BLS.
  • Staff adheres to all I.C.A.R.E. Standards.
