Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Applications Support Specialist to join our team at Peraton. As a key member of our Applications Support team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch support services related to the installation and deployment of CA applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain CA systems, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Perform root cause analysis and document all existing and potential problems and outages, along with corrective actions, to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that all problems/incidents are logged into the Ticket Management System and properly managed, providing timely and effective resolutions.
  • Participate in planning meetings to execute proactive system upgrades and new technology implementations, driving innovation and efficiency.
  • Update government task manager (GTM) on production issues and initiatives, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Identify opportunities to automate routine processes, streamlining operations and improving productivity.
  • Review SOPs for maintaining CA operational capability and work with staff to document procedures, ensuring compliance and best practices.
  • Attend all CA applications training when scheduled, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and methodologies.
Monitoring and Deployment
  • Identify CA components that can be monitored using Zabbix/Grafana/Splunk dashboards and alerts, or other identified systems, ensuring proactive issue detection and resolution.
  • Coordinate with the monitoring team on updates to CA servers and configurations that affect monitoring services (new/removed servers, sites), ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Coordinate with Development and Database teams to plan and implement upgrades or new components, driving innovation and efficiency.
  • Maintain list of scheduled production events and ensure timing does not conflict with operational requirements, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance.
  • Provide required notifications of upcoming deployments, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Reporting and Core Work Schedule
  • Provide weekly activity reports on recent and upcoming activity, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Identify issues that need to be addressed with the client, driving continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide weekly summaries of incidents handled by staff, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Provide daily notifications of current activities, ongoing or just-completed incidents, and imminent upcoming events, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.

This position is hybrid with remote work and up to two days per week in the office in Sterling, VA or Washington, DC. The Applications Support Specialist must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, and be available to work onsite for the first 2-3 weeks, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM in Sterling, VA.

This position requires a U.S. citizen with a minimum active SECRET Government Security Clearance and the ability to obtain TOP SECRET clearance. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in applications support, a deep understanding of Tier 2 Windows and/or Linux OS installation and configuration issues, and experience working with custom applications and troubleshooting issues in a client server environment.

The target salary range for this position is $80,000 - $128,000, based on experience and other factors.
