Key Responsibilities:- Prepare patient specimens for laboratory testing, with a focus on preanalytic and post-analytic processes.
- Enter patient demographic and test order information into lab information systems, maintaining confidentiality and handling routine inquiries from patients and staff.
- Perform blood sample collection or phlebotomy as a primary duty, demonstrating competency, productivity, and compassion with all patients.
- Review laboratory request forms for complete demographic and order entry information, resolving discrepancies as needed.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills.
- A minimum of six months experience in phlebotomy required, with new employees needing to successfully complete competency evaluation and demonstrate safety and proficiency with all patient ages.
