Job Summary

As a Patient Service Representative at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in the front office management and operation of our physician practice. Your responsibilities will include patient registration, pre-certification, charge capture, and accurate coding of diagnoses. You will also be responsible for posting payments, balancing computer reports, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional patient service, ensuring a positive experience for all patients and visitors.
  • Register patients, verify insurance information, and obtain signatures on required forms.
  • Process payments, vouchers, and private payments, and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist patients with ambulatory difficulties and maintain a clean and organized waiting area.
  • Screen visitors, respond to routine requests for information, and provide front office phone support as needed.
  • Process outpatient charges, gather and verify superbills, and enter charge and payment information into the computer system.
  • Participate in educational activities, gather and verify superbills, and enter charge and payment information into the computer system.
  • Perform related work as required, maintaining a neat and professional appearance and upholding guidelines set forth in the office manual.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent OR Post-high school diploma. Associate degree in technical specialty program of 18 months minimum in length - Preferred.
  • No previous experience required. Multi-specialty group practice setting experience - Preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of ICD-9 and CPT coding - Preferred.
