RWE Clean Energy, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Renewable Energy Technician Associate to join our team. As a key member of our operations and maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our solar farms and energy storage facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor the availability of solar and energy storage facilities and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance.
- Execute daily scheduling philosophies to maximize generation and prioritize proactive work.
- Test, maintain, and troubleshoot solar PV and battery storage electrical equipment.
- Ensure all assigned maintenance tasks are performed safely and in accordance with established site operating procedures.
- Perform data collection and prepare reports to meet reporting requirements.
- Perform balance of plant and switchyard work as required.
- Perform maintenance on BESS, trackers, inverters, and other PV electrical equipment as assigned by the Site Supervisor or Lead.
- Monitor the activities of maintenance contractors and ensure corrective actions where necessary.
- Document all work and generate reports as required.
- Identify gaps in safety standards and safety risks in the environment.
- Use available tools to monitor energy output and respond quickly to emergencies or situations requiring immediate troubleshooting and corrective actions.
- Ensure site access, site HSE, security, deliveries, and inspections are performed in accordance with site protocols.
- Interface with third-party contractors working at our facilities.
- Available to respond to non-traditional operating hours for operations, maintenance, and emergent issues.
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in operations and maintenance of power generation, transmission, and distribution.
- Preference will be given to candidates with some renewable energy experience, preferably solar.
- Must be skilled in at least one of the following: power plant operations, electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance, substations maintenance, power plant safety protocols.
- Must be able to relocate within 1 hour of the site.
- Ability to walk, climb, and stand extensively during the workday.
- Knowledge of environmental and safety policies and procedures.
- Ability and willingness to travel to and from job sites as assigned.
- Ability to push/pull/lift tools and equipment weighing up to and over 50 lbs.
- Routine operation of a computer/tablet and other office productivity machinery.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Complete all required training in a satisfactory manner and timeframe.
