About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Solar Technician I to join our team at EDP Energias de Portugal S.A. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the renewable energy sector and contribute to the growth and success of our company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform on-site operations, maintenance, repairs, and replacement of equipment at our solar generation sites.
  • Complete Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), Tail Board, and job-specific documentation to ensure safe conduct of PV solar system maintenance.
  • Inspect equipment, tools, and facilities for compliance with EDPR policies, governmental safety guidelines, and environmental regulations.
  • Proactively identify improvement opportunities in job-related processes and procedures and communicate through appropriate channels.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical component repair and replacement of parts to correct malfunctions in accordance with manufacturers' requirements.
  • Seek assistance when encountering issues outside trained skill level to ensure successful resolution.
  • Comply with all pertinent environmental health and safety programs.
  • Act as a safety role model, encouraging and recognizing others for safe acts and intervening when unsafe acts are being practiced.
  • Identify gaps in safety standards and safety risks in the environment.
  • Promote integrity, strong initiative, and a no-compromise focus on safety and quality of work on a continuous basis.
  • Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with OEM maintenance manuals.
  • Work with and respond to EDPR's Remote Operations Control Center when necessary.
  • Perform QA/QC inspections in accordance with applicable SOP.
  • Facilitate periodic equipment inspections and reporting.
  • Document all work performed using computer-based service reporting procedures (SAP).
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in PV Solar or a related industry.
  • Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment (e.g., voltage testers, amp clamps).
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
