About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Smelter Operator to join our team at Element Resources in Muncie, Indiana. As a Smelter Operator, you will play a critical role in our battery recycling process, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate high-speed blenders and blending/milling equipment to process battery materials
  • Monitor and record temperature readings from smelters and spray dryers
  • Empty smelters and package materials for shipment
  • Operate fork and/or lift trucks to move materials around the facility
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning tasks to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
  • Train other operators as needed and work with minimal supervision
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training preferred
  • Ability to operate equipment and basic power tools
  • Understanding of plant safety and operations procedures
  • Basic math skills and ability to follow verbal and visual instructions
  • Ability to lift, bend, and reach with loads for periods of time
