Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Executive Director to lead our team and drive our mission forward. The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record of fundraising, operations management, and board governance, with a proven ability to lead teams and develop a positive organizational culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan in partnership with the staff and board of directors.
  • Lead fundraising efforts, identifying new sources of revenue and creating partnerships with external constituents.
  • Manage donor stewardship and identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Provide oversight to fundraising and marketing initiatives, events, and activities.
  • Build an effective, powerful, and high-impact board and develop strong relationships with board members.
  • Measure board members' success and provide effective feedback for accountability.
  • Operate in a business-like and professional setting, providing transparency and oversight for operational, programming, and fiscal management.
  • Develop the full potential of skill sets into capable executives and leaders by creating personal development programs and measuring success.
  • Implement effective succession planning for the ED role and other key positions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree or advanced training in business, finance, nonprofit management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of senior-level experience in nonprofit leadership, including strength in fundraising, operations, board governance, and organizational leadership.
  • Proven track record of fundraising and identification of new sources of revenue.
  • Proven people leader with experience leading teams and developing a positive organizational culture.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to be the face of the organization locally and globally.
  • Equity-minded leader with an understanding of diversity, equity, cultural sensitivity, and inclusion.
  • Strategic, growth-oriented leader with the ability to plan and execute short-term objectives in pursuit of a long-term vision.
  • Hands-on leader with the ability to get involved in diverse operational tasks and international travel to developing countries.
  • Proven experience working with nonprofit boards, identifying, recruiting, and engaging board members, donors, volunteers, and community members.
  • Personal ethics and integrity that reflect positively on the mission and the organization.
