Overview:McCue Corporation is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Sales – Distributor Channel to lead and execute sales strategies focused on driving product sales through key distributors such as Grainger, Fastenal, and similar industry leaders. This is a pivotal role, responsible for establishing and nurturing relationships with distributor partners, collaborating with manufacturing representative groups, and aligning with internal teams to achieve business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the industrial distribution landscape and a proven track record in B2B sales, particularly within distributor channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Revenue Growth: Achieve individual quarterly and annual revenue goals for assigned distributor accounts by closing strategic sales opportunities with partners like Grainger and Fastenal.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and deepen relationships with key distributor contacts to ensure McCue products are well-represented and supported.
  • Sales Strategy: Utilize a consultative sales approach, leveraging market insights and feedback to identify and pursue new opportunities for channel growth.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments, including Marketing, Product Management, and Customer Service, to support distributor sales efforts and ensure seamless product delivery.
  • Travel: Conduct frequent travel (up to 40%) to engage with distributor partners, manufacturing representative groups, and key end-user accounts.

Key Results:

  • Achieve Sales Targets: Consistently meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue goals for distributor accounts.
  • Maximize Business: Retain and expand current business by deepening account penetration and fostering strong distributor relationships.
  • Support Growth: Provide essential support to manufacturing representative groups in driving sales to end users and channeling business into distributors.

  • Sales Leadership: Proven ability to inspire, collaborate, and influence both internal and external teams.
  • Market Insight: Strong analytical skills to assess market opportunities and provide value-based solutions to distributors.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Experience: 7+ years of successful B2B sales experience, with a focus on managing distributor channels and key account management.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the industrial distribution landscape, including key players and market dynamics.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to analyze sales data and market trends.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership experience with the ability to develop and motivate a high-performing sales team.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as needed to meet with distributors, representative groups, and end users.
