Position Overview:

The individual will serve as the Division Chief for Acquisition and Fiscal Law, overseeing the legal operations within the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). This role involves supervising a team of attorneys specializing in acquisition and fiscal law, ensuring compliance with legal standards and policies.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert legal guidance on acquisition and fiscal law matters, influencing the NGA's mission and objectives.
  • Exercise primary decision-making authority regarding legal interpretations that affect major procurement programs and fiscal initiatives.
  • Oversee the management of contract disputes and bid protests, ensuring representation in external legal forums.
  • Collaborate with the Inspector General on investigations related to procurement practices and fraud.
  • Represent the NGA in high-level meetings and discussions with other governmental agencies and legislative bodies.

Qualifications:

Applicants must demonstrate extensive experience in legal practice, particularly in federal acquisition and fiscal law. A law degree from an accredited institution and active membership in a state bar are mandatory. Candidates should possess:

  • Significant experience in federal procurement processes and budgetary regulations.
  • Strong leadership capabilities to manage a diverse legal team effectively.
  • Exceptional analytical skills to assess complex legal issues and provide clear, actionable advice.

Core Competencies:

The successful candidate will exhibit a deep understanding of the interagency dynamics within the Intelligence Community and the Department of Defense. They should demonstrate a commitment to ethical leadership and the ability to foster collaboration across various organizational levels.


Additional Requirements:

This position necessitates a security clearance, and candidates must be U.S. citizens. Compliance with the NGA's Drug Testing Program and successful completion of a polygraph examination are also prerequisites.
