Overview

Responsibilities

Industrial Engineering

  • Analyze and design sequence of operations and workflow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts.
  • Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
  • Develop and provide time standards to the shop floor as well as standard work for operations and processes.

Lean

  • Define improvement projects aligned with business strategies through the use of Just-In-Time/Lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
  • Facilitate and coach projects and subsystems of Lean activities from inception through completion.

As a Spirit AeroSystems intern, you will have exposure to multiple manufacturing plant tours, professional development workshops, project expo, social/networking events, and the opportunity to present an intern project for executive leaders.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • You must be a US Person (US Citizen or US Permanent Resident).
  • You must be enrolled full-time in a university degree program aligned to the area of internship.
  • You must be a current sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student in good academic standing.
