POSITION SUMMARY:


Accountable for conducting aerodynamic assessments and the advancement of both new and existing aircraft models across the Cessna product range utilizing analytical data, wind tunnel results, and flight test information.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


The diverse responsibilities within the Aerodynamics division may encompass both internal and external aerodynamic evaluations, aerodynamic design tasks, and the prediction of aircraft loads, performance metrics, and handling characteristics.

Involves the creation of design, analysis, and simulation models and tools utilizing a variety of proprietary and commercial computational resources, as well as programming languages such as FORTRAN, MATLAB, C++, Python, and MATHCAD on LINUX systems and PCs.

Contribute to the development and validation of significant engineering initiatives.
Engage in the entire development lifecycle, from initial advanced design phases to final validation activities.

Collaborate with various engineering sectors including Advanced Design, Mass Properties, Flight Controls, Propulsion, Mechanical Systems, Engineering Flight Test, Stress, and Fatigue.

Utilize knowledge of 14 CFR Part 23 and Part 25 regulations to ensure that all essential design and certification analyses are conducted.

Document findings in memos and certification reports for distribution to internal stakeholders and global certification bodies.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering is mandatory.
A Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering is advantageous.

SKILLS:
Ability to collaborate effectively within teams and adapt to varying work environments.
Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
Capability to program in structured languages, with experience in FORTRAN and Python being highly desirable.
Experience in the collection and analysis of wind tunnel data.
Experience in developing theoretical aerodynamic models.

Familiarity with simulation tools for trajectory analysis, aircraft performance calculations, or assessing aircraft handling characteristics.

Cessna must adhere to U.S. export control laws and regulations.
