Job Summary

Peraton is seeking a highly skilled Communication Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for spearheading strategic communications efforts, emphasizing a transactional approach, with operations spanning between McLean and Bethesda. You will serve as the primary point of contact for meeting facilitation, ensuring meticulous note-taking and documentation. Additionally, you will lead the development, coordination, and editing of strategic communication products, including strategy and planning documents. You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts to prepare assignments, integrating diverse inputs into cohesive and easily understood documents. You will provide comprehensive support in researching, proofreading, editing, and ensuring the quality of various communication products for both print and electronic publication across multiple platforms. You will guarantee documentation and editing processes adhere to standards of accuracy, consistency, readability, and accessibility tailored to the medium of choice. You will draft and refine communication materials such as talking points, speeches, quotes, leadership communications, marketing copy, and web content. You will specialize in speech writing, crafting impactful addresses tailored for leadership across the enterprise. You will take initiative in planning, executing, and reporting on tasks with a high degree of independence. You will apply strong editorial skills to rewrite submissions, ensuring a harmonized sense of style, grammar, and flow across all written materials. You will distill complex information, presenting it in a clear, concise, and straightforward manner. You will uphold strict adherence to tradecraft and publication standards for all products. You will demonstrate proficiency with essential tools, including the MS Office suite, collaboration platforms like MS Teams and SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat.

Requirements

This role requires a Bachelor's degree and 18+ years of experience, a Master's degree and 10+ years of experience, or no degree with 24+ years of experience. You must have an active TS/SCI with Polygraph. You should have experience in leading communication support including the development, preparation, production, coordination, and editing of a range of products. You should have experience in mentoring and training junior staff. You should be proficient in Adobe Acrobat and other relevant tools for content creation. You should be skilled in researching, proofreading, editing, creating, writing, processing, revising, formatting, and coordinating the composition of products for publication. You should be able to draft and edit a variety of communication materials and products. You should have experience in preparing and editing speeches or scripts for senior executives. You should be able to convey complex information in a clear and simple manner.

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
