Aeromedical Transport Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aeromedical Transport Specialist to join our team at Atrium Health. As a key member of our transport team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care while promoting safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Provide accurate and legible documentation of patient care, ensuring that charts are placed in patient records in a timely manner.
- Administer medications and IV solutions safely, correctly, and in accordance with policies and state regulations.
- Follow safety guidelines and procedures, ensuring seat belts are worn by crew and passengers.
- Drive in accordance with Atrium Health policy and local and state regulations.
- Assist with other activities, including public relations and marketing activities as needed.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school graduate or GED.
- Successful completion of an accredited EMT-Paramedic training program.
- Current NC EMT-P certification.
- SC EMT-P and National Registry Paramedic certifications preferred.
- BCLS and ACLS required.
- PALS, S.T.A.B.L.E., and NRP preferred.
- Approved trauma certification required within 6 months of employment.
- A valid driver's license with no more than 6 points on the license.
- One year of paramedic experience.
- Annual completion of safety briefings and annual survival training.
This role requires working, transporting, and driving in all weather conditions, including extreme hot, cold, and wet weather. You must be able to function in high-stress situations and have critical thinking skills to make rapid, appropriate decisions that ensure the safety of both the crew and patients.
Physical RequirementsThis role requires good physical stamina and endurance to perform duties, including heavy lifting with the assistance of a partner to load/unload patients and carry equipment. You must have intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch, with good finger dexterity and motor skills.
