Job Title: Director, Pride Center

San Diego State University is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to serve as the Director of the Pride Center. The successful candidate will provide leadership and vision for the Pride Center, working collaboratively with the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity to promote inclusive excellence and support the academic and public service mission of the university.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership for the Pride Center, developing and implementing programs and services that promote LGBTQIA student success and well-being.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to develop and implement inclusive policies and practices that support LGBTQIA students.
  • Develop and manage budgets, staff, and resources to achieve the goals of the Pride Center.
  • Represent the Pride Center and the university at local, regional, and national levels, building relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement training programs for students, staff, and faculty on LGBTQIA issues and inclusive practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in LGBTQIA Studies, Ethnic Studies, Cultural Studies, Women's Studies, or a related field.
  • Five years of progressively responsible professional experience providing student services, with a focus on diversity and inclusion.
  • Demonstrated experience managing professional staff and developing and implementing programs and services.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in LGBTQIA Studies, Ethnic Studies, or a related field.
  • Bilingual or multilingual.
  • Prior experience in higher education, with a focus on diversity and inclusion.
  • Experience working from anti-racist, queer, and feminist frameworks.
