Healthcare Quality Improvement Analyst (Registered Nurse)

We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Quality Improvement Analyst to collaborate with departmental leadership in delivering high-quality, dependable, and cost-efficient healthcare services.

This role involves facilitating strategic initiatives both within and across departments, employing methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis, Intense Analysis, and Six Sigma principles.
Responsibilities include developing and generating reports focused on performance enhancement, safety, guideline adherence, and outcomes within designated areas. The analyst will utilize statistical techniques and expertise to create measures, sampling methods, and effectively represent data. This includes leveraging data from benchmark facilities, financial databases, and other internal and external data sources to pinpoint opportunities for improvement. In partnership with the Medical Director, the analyst will present findings from quality improvement projects to relevant departmental audiences.

  • Serves as a consultant for medical and departmental staff regarding the development of metrics, statistical analysis, and effective data presentation to support initiatives aimed at achieving significant or incremental enhancements in patient care, as evidenced by at least one improvement worthy of documentation each year.
  • Applies the Model for Improvement, Lean Methodologies, and other organizational tools as the foundation for performance improvement projects, acting as a resource for all staff on these methodologies.
  • Provides leadership and education on standards set by The Joint Commission, American College of Surgeons, AAMI, and CMS Regulations related to performance improvement. Prepares agendas, reports, and minutes for performance improvement task force meetings/projects with precision.
  • Acts as a facilitator and/or team leader for projects as needed, with evidence of effectiveness demonstrated through document reviews and feedback from the medical director.
  • Collaborates with the Quality and Outcomes department to ensure aligned methodologies and tools are utilized for quality improvement efforts, attending established monthly quality departmental meetings for education and a comprehensive view of quality.
Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any recommended booster doses, is a requirement for all employees, unless an exemption for medical or religious reasons is approved.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse - Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact
  • Minimum of two years of professional clinical experience in quality/performance improvement methodologies.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) are preferred.
