Nursing Assistant/Health Unit Coordinator ICU Nights

Join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals at Advocate Aurora Health as a Nursing Assistant/Health Unit Coordinator in the ICU Nights department. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist RNs with daily patient care, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and activity orders.
- Measure and document patient data, such as blood pressures, TPRs, I & O, and daily weights.
- Participate in admission, transfer, and discharge processes, ensuring patient rooms are set up and oriented.
- Perform purposeful rounding, communicating patient observations, concerns, and needs to RNs.
- Collect urine, stool, and sputum specimens and perform point-of-care testing as indicated.
- Practice infection prevention by demonstrating hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile and aseptic procedures.
- Coordinate tests and treatments with and between various departments, maintaining a working knowledge of EHR systems and other computer systems.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days.
- Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated with the State Registry in which the team member practices.
- Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED), or High School Graduate.
