Nursing Assistant Night Shift Position

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team on a night shift. As a Nursing Assistant, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Responsibilities:
- Assist RNs with daily patient care, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and ambulation.
- Measure and document patient data, such as blood pressures, temperatures, and intake/output.
- Perform purposeful rounding and promptly communicate patient observations and concerns to RNs.
- Participate in admission, transfer, and discharge processes, including room setup and patient orientation.
- Collect and process patient specimens and perform point-of-care testing as needed.
- Maintain patient call lights and respond promptly to patient requests.
- Perform various patient positioning and transporting duties, including lifting and pushing/pulling.
- Assist with nutritional needs, including diet review and tray setup/removal.
- Ensure patient skin integrity and provide special patient supplies and appliances as needed.
- Practice infection prevention policies and procedures, including hand hygiene and sterile/aseptic techniques.
Requirements:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days.
- Nurse Aide certification in good standing with the State Registry.
- Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED), or High School Graduate.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
- Ability to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Must be able to work with patients who have varying levels of acuity and require different levels of care. Must be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with RNs and other healthcare team members.
