Position Overview

The Training Specialist III plays a crucial role in identifying and addressing the technical training requirements of our personnel. This position is responsible for the development and administration of comprehensive training programs tailored to meet the specific needs of various groups within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate technical training needs to create effective training strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to established training standards across all programs.
  • Design, implement, and refine training curricula and materials to fulfill targeted training objectives.
  • Lead or facilitate specialized training sessions for designated employee groups, including the introduction of new training initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and performance metrics.
  • Recommend enhancements to training initiatives to boost overall program effectiveness.
  • Provide mentorship and direction to fellow trainers, often leading project teams.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in relevant technical domains, fostering relationships with potential and existing clients.
  • Deliver technical training to both government and contractor personnel, supporting the advancement of prototyping capabilities.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of ten years' experience in developing lesson plans and on-the-job training resources.
  • Proven track record in delivering formal training sessions related to Information Technology (IT) Systems.
  • Experience in providing hands-on training.
  • Familiarity with delivering instructional periods on both existing and newly developed systems.
  • Must possess a current Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
  • Strong analytical and research capabilities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Individual Training Standards.
Preferred Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Prior active-duty military experience is advantageous.
  • Instructor certifications such as CTT, Military Instructor Certification, or Formal School Instructors Course are preferred.
  • Ten years of experience supporting Department of Defense or Naval Surface Warfare Center Programs.
  • Experience in curriculum development for DoD Program of Record systems.
  • Experience in providing on-the-job training for DoD Program of Record Systems.
  • Experience in creating formal training courses for DoD projects and Program of Record Systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of NSWC operations.

Note: This position requires U.S. citizenship and a government security clearance at the Secret level.
