Position Overview

The Training Specialist III plays a pivotal role in assessing and addressing the technical training requirements of various teams within the organization. This position involves the development and implementation of comprehensive training strategies to enhance employee performance and meet organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts thorough analyses to identify training needs and formulates plans and programs tailored to specific groups.
  • Ensures adherence to established training standards across all programs.
  • Designs, organizes, and evaluates training curricula and materials to fulfill targeted training objectives.
  • Leads or facilitates specialized training sessions aimed at enhancing the skills of selected personnel, particularly during the rollout of new initiatives.
  • Monitors and assesses the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, proficiency assessments, and performance metrics.
  • Implements enhancements to training initiatives to boost overall program effectiveness.
  • Provides mentorship and guidance to fellow trainers, offering leadership and technical support to project teams.
  • Identifies and pursues new business opportunities within relevant technical domains, fostering relationships with potential and existing clients.
  • Delivers technical training to government and contractor personnel, supporting both current and emerging prototyping capabilities.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in developing lesson plans and on-the-job training materials.
  • Proven track record in delivering formal training courses in Information Technology (IT) Systems.
  • Experience in providing on-the-job training and instructional periods for both existing and newly developed systems.
  • Must possess a current Department of Defense Secret security clearance.
  • Exceptional analytical and research capabilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Individual Training Standards.
Preferred Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Prior active-duty military experience is advantageous.
  • Instructor certifications such as CTT, Military Instructor Certification, or Formal School Instructors Course are preferred.
  • Ten years of experience supporting Department of Defense or Naval Surface Warfare Center Programs.
  • Experience in curriculum development for DoD Program of Record systems.
  • Proven ability to provide on-the-job training for DoD Program of Record Systems.
  • Experience in creating formal training courses for DoD projects and Program of Record Systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of NSWC operations.

Note: This position requires U.S. citizenship and a government security clearance at the Secret level.
