Position Overview:

Nightwing is seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Software Engineer to play a pivotal role in our software development initiatives focused on Electronic Warfare (EW) technologies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technologies that enhance the capabilities of our defense systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in the complete software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, and testing.
  • Conduct thorough requirements analysis to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Participate in code reviews and assess software artifacts for quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Systems and Hardware Engineering, to gather essential information for project execution.

Required Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in software engineering.
  • Proficiency in developing Real-Time Embedded Systems.
  • Experience in leading technical teams and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the software lifecycle, including architecture, requirements analysis, design, implementation, and testing.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required for security clearance purposes.

Preferred Skills:

Additional qualifications that would be advantageous include:

  • Experience with UNIX, Linux, VxWorks, or other Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Continuous Integration.
  • Knowledge of Signal Processing algorithms and tools such as MATLAB or Simulink.
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
