Overview

MasTec Communications Group is a leading national infrastructure construction company operating throughout the United States. We perform both wireline and wireless communication services on a national scale, with expertise in cell tower construction, RF engineering, broadband fiber optic cable installation, OSP engineering, wireline construction, and emergency maintenance services.

As a SAQ Project Manager, you will develop strategies that meet and exceed client expectations and manage day-to-day project-level schedules, financials, status internal/external, and customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor Site Acquisition Specialists in all areas of site acquisition and provide them with the tools and strategies to be successful and self-sufficient.
  • Set timelines for each site acquisition milestone and hold Site Acquisition Specialists accountable for reaching those milestone dates.
  • Establish goals, provide guidance, and performance evaluations for Site Acquisition Specialists.
  • Liaison between site acquisition team, RF, construction, and regulatory compliance.
  • Receive updates and provide forecasts for all site acquisition functions.
  • Problem-solve site acquisition issues.
  • Handle site issues pre- and post-construction.
  • Manage project-level financials based on project milestones to ensure proper revenue recognition during the project lifecycle, including project invoicing and close-out.
  • Stay aligned and in step with Customer's monthly POE.
  • Engage with scoping team to ensure proper SOW is leased.
  • Interface with Launchpad Organization to move projects through SAQ lifecycle.
  • Ensure projects meet milestones, schedules, and other timeline requirements.
  • Provide timely project status updates to supervisor.
  • Attend meetings and conference calls with the customer or vendors.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow working relationships with customers and vendors.
  • Analyze project finances to reconcile variances in project budgets and vendor purchase orders.
  • Investigate invoices and POs that are "rejected" or "on hold" by Purchasing Team.
  • Works with Administration Supervisor to have work assigned to PCs.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Skills and Experience:

  • College degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Experience managing, mentoring, and leading a team.
  • Strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of the wireless industry.
  • Risk management, contingency planning, and decision-making abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex or sensitive issues to favorable resolution.
  • Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Able to operate in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
  • 1-2 years managing a high volume of projects (preferably AT&T).
  • 3-5 years of Site Acquisition experience preferred.
  • Pre-planning and forward thinking.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Financial acumen.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time.
  • Must have the ability and be willing to travel, as required, for job-related functions.
  • Works primarily in an office environment.
