Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Senior Project Lead to oversee the design, construction, and completion of a newly constructed replacement hospital in Terrell, Texas. The successful candidate will provide direction and oversight to agency staff and contractors, ensuring the project is completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, develop, and approve schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving project goals and completion schedules.
  • Develop, review, and approve project budgets and change orders, and direct evaluation activities related to project completion and projections.
  • Act as Owner's Representative for the development of assigned new hospital projects, developing and establishing goals and objectives throughout all phases.
  • Schedule and attend regular project meetings with all involved project parties and maintain accurate up-to-date project plans, change documentation, meeting notes, project status reports, and project timelines.

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of commercial construction principles, techniques, materials, and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and apply construction contracting requirements.
  • Knowledge of basic project management practices applicable to complex projects.
  • Ability to understand and apply critical codes and regulatory requirements, including Life Safety Code requirements and Texas Accessibility Standards.
  • Ability to recognize and respond to hierarchy in overlapping codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Skills in establishing plans and setting objectives and goals that support project management, scheduling, and an overall business strategy.
  • Skills in creative problem-solving, communication, and coordination in complex collaborative projects.
  • Ability to effectively manage complex planning and management activities, including the review of plans and specifications and the ability to provide written comments on work prepared by architects and engineers.
  • Ability to direct and organize overall project activities, establish goals and objectives, identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, design professionals, management, facility personnel, public officials, and managing outside partners.

Working Conditions:
This position works under minimal supervision of the Director of Maintenance and Construction with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment, including on-site real-time decisions.
