Commercial Superintendent

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee the field construction of a project, ensuring it is completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Coordination: Act as the primary liaison with subcontractors, architects, and engineers to coordinate day-to-day construction activities.
  • Schedule Development: Develop and implement project work schedules, identifying critical paths and expediting materials and equipment for timely delivery.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and supervise field staff, providing input on performance appraisals and ensuring adherence to ethics and compliance requirements.
  • Safety Management: Develop and manage the site safety program, ensuring subcontractor compliance with safety codes and regulations.
  • Logistics and Quality Control: Manage work-related scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control, and trade employee staffing levels.
  • Trade Coordination: Oversee work among all trades to promote and coordinate project operations, resolving local area problems and ensuring compliance with procedures and design clarifications.
  • Labor Relations: Manage labor relations with subcontractors and ensure all necessary permits and inspections are in place.
  • Project Administration: Manage the General Conditions and General Requirements for the project to maintain budget and provide percent complete status for billing purposes.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure work is installed in compliance with and conforms to approved contract documents.
Requirements:
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of construction management software, preferably Procore.
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of four years' related training and at least eight years of building construction experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Soft Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and a thorough understanding of construction documents and procedures.
  • Business Acumen: Knowledge of construction cost control and basic accounting procedures, with computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Leadership and Communication: Excellent management, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
