Position Overview: The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for executing tasks outlined in the Service Contract Act Service Order for ELECTRICIAN, MAINTENANCE. This role may also involve performing duties of other classifications that have a pay rate equal to or lower than the employee's current rate.


Key Responsibilities: The individual will engage in a variety of electrical trade functions, including the installation, upkeep, or repair of equipment related to the generation, distribution, or utilization of electrical energy. Key tasks include:

  • Installing or repairing various electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, and conduit systems.
  • Interpreting blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
  • Identifying and diagnosing issues within the electrical systems or equipment.
  • Conducting standard computations related to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
  • Utilizing a range of electrician's hand tools and measuring/testing instruments.

Overall, the role of the Maintenance Electrician necessitates comprehensive training and experience typically gained through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training.


Qualifications:


Education

  • Minimum
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Completion of an Electrician Apprenticeship
  • Desired - None

Experience

  • Minimum
    • Two years of journeyman-level experience in the trade
  • Desired - None

Skills

  • Minimum
    • Proficiency in using tools and testing instruments common to the trade
  • Desired - None


Certifications/Licenses

  • Minimum
    • Duval County or other Florida County Journeyman Electrician License
    • Valid Driver's License
  • Desired - None
