Job Overview

We are seeking dedicated, reliable, and skilled commercial Electrical Technicians and Assistants to enhance our workforce. Candidates should possess substantial experience in installation and construction tasks, along with proficiency in reading blueprints, electrical diagrams, wiring, and conduit work. A comprehensive understanding of workplace safety regulations is essential. The role requires the ability to follow instructions, work at heights, and assist in various aspects of electrical projects. Our goal is to deliver safe electrical systems to a diverse clientele. This position is a direct hire with Southern Atlantic Electric Company.

Salary Negotiation: We are open to discussing salary based on your skill set.

Training Opportunity: Southern Atlantic Electric is proud to participate in NEFBA, offering sponsorship for your tuition as an apprentice to become a journeyman electrician.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and maintain electrical systems and fixtures.
  • Set up different types of raceway and cable tray systems.
  • Diagnose and repair motor and control systems.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on electrical wiring and systems.
  • Comply with all quality and safety standards.
  • Assist a master electrician on various electrical tasks.
  • Inspect units for loose connections.
  • Drill openings for electrical wiring.
  • Measure and cut wires accurately.
  • Assist with conduit work, including bending and running conduit.
Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in commercial electrical work or related fields.
  • Leadman experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Fire Alarm and Electrical Controls is advantageous.
  • HVAC Control experience is a plus.
  • Possession of personal hand tools and power tools is required.
  • Must pass a drug screening.
  • A valid driver’s license is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals is essential.
  • Familiarity with electrical equipment and hand tools is necessary.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities are required.
  • A high school diploma or GED certificate is necessary.
  • Experience in reading blueprints or electrical schematics is essential.
  • Physical stamina is important for the role.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • A willingness to learn and grow in the field is essential.
