Position Summary
The Personnel Security Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive support and adjudication services for federal applicants and contractors, adhering to the guidelines set forth in 5 Code of Federal Regulations 731.

Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Gaining a thorough understanding of various personnel security background investigations and their relevance to Public Trust and National Security roles.
  • Conducting training sessions on suitability adjudication to align with evolving regulations and mandates.
  • Reviewing and assessing investigation reports, personnel records, and other relevant documentation to assist in making informed decisions regarding security clearances.
  • Utilizing advanced technological resources to research personnel security information, including systems such as OPM NP2 Portal and Clearance Verification System (CVS).
  • Analyzing data while applying applicable laws, regulations, and policies to ensure compliance and fairness.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate security operations within the personnel security program.

Qualifications
Applicants should possess:

  • An Associate's Degree combined with 8 years of security experience, including at least 3 years in personnel security.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to resolve complex security issues.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • The capacity to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • A keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Mandatory Requirement
Selected candidates will undergo a Government Security Investigation and must meet the eligibility criteria for access to classified information, including Top-Secret clearance.
