Job SummaryWe're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Program Manager to join our cross-functional product development organization. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the delivery of a vehicle program, ensuring timely and budget-friendly execution. Your expertise will be instrumental in identifying and mitigating program risks, managing critical path timelines, and fostering collaboration among technical teams.
Key Responsibilities- Engineering Critical Path: Develop and manage timelines to ensure the critical path is executed efficiently, with a focus on Tier 2 and Tier 3 timelines.
- Risk Management: Collaborate with technical teams to identify program risks, develop mitigation plans, and escalate issues before they become major concerns.
- Issue Management: Ensure issues are identified and resolved effectively throughout the program, with a focus on burning down issues before moving to more complex phases.
- Scope Management: Work with functional teams to determine the scope of the program, align dependencies, and iterate to find the best solution.
- Change Management: Align on change management content, ensure necessary changes are agreed upon, and execute high-quality change execution.
- Targets Management: Collaborate with technical teams and vehicle lines to set and achieve budget targets, BOM cost, mass, feature targets, and resolve issues that may impact target achievement.
- Passionate about electric vehicles and cutting-edge technology.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- 7+ years' experience in product development, with a focus on design release experience and autonomous vehicle compute systems, sensors, and vehicle integration.
- A track record of successfully delivering large-scale, complex, cross-functional, and capital-intensive projects.
- Experience in the automotive domain or adjacent industries, with a strong understanding of engineering theory, manufacturing techniques, and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical systems.
Rivian provides a competitive salary range of $168,000 - $193,000 for Irvine-based applicants and $184,000 - $211,000 for Palo Alto-based applicants, depending on experience. We also offer robust medical/Rx, dental, and vision insurance packages, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
