Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Automation Expert to join our team at Automationtechies in Lexington, KY. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career in automation by taking the next step with this Control Engineer position.

About the Role

This position involves working with a talented team of Controls and Mechanical Engineers to develop automation solutions that prioritize customer satisfaction, quality, standards, and safety. As an Electrical Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for programming PLCs, HMIs, robotics, etc., and designing schematics.

You will have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies in the industry and experience professional growth while developing advanced systems.

Responsibilities
  • Programming PLCs using Allen Bradley is required
  • Experience with project management is beneficial
  • Customer interaction for scope and specification meetings is essential
  • Detailed design skills with AutoCAD Electrical are necessary
  • Some Sales and Marketing activities will be involved
  • Senior staff will provide guidance and support until comfortable
  • Opportunities to work with machine vision, robotics, AGVs, and more
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field OR 2-year degree pertaining specifically to automation and controls plus 5 years direct experience in Controls Automation design
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or other CAD software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • At least 3 years of PLC programming with Allen Bradley is required
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to grasp new concepts quickly
  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
  • Flexible schedule and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
