We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Development Associate to play a vital role in our Development Department. Reporting directly to the Development Operations Manager, this individual will provide essential administrative support and help cultivate both internal and external relationships to promote a successful and engaging fundraising program.
This full-time, hybrid position offers an excellent opportunity to lay the groundwork for a rewarding career in development within a prestigious institution, collaborating with a dynamic team focused on achieving outstanding fundraising results.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support for the Development Department
- Enhance and document operational processes to improve the overall efficiency of the Development team.
- Work closely with Artistic staff to coordinate donor visits and deliver high-level benefits to key supporters.
- Ensure accurate donor listings for publications, including theater programs and the website.
- Provide administrative assistance to the Chief Development Officer, including scheduling meetings and managing meeting spaces.
- Act as a liaison to the Boston Ballet Volunteer Association (BBVA).
- Prepare stewardship reports for endowments and scholarships, and assist with correspondence and mailings as needed.
Support for Major Gifts and Visionaries' Circle
- Assist the Director of Major Gifts with administrative tasks, including calendar management and donor communications.
- Help manage special projects and stewardship initiatives for the EVW Visionaries' Circle.
- Update and maintain the fundraising database with current donor information and notes.
Support for Special Events and Experiences
- Manage event invitation lists, RSVP tracking, and data entry in Tessitura.
- Conduct research on attendees for high-profile events.
- Assist with event logistics throughout the season, including on-site representation and planning support.
- Serve as a representative for Boston Ballet during theater productions, staffing the VIP Lounge as required.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of one year in an administrative, customer service, or development-related role.
- A proactive mindset with a strong willingness to learn and grow.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve common goals.
- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in creating impactful presentations.
- Familiarity with fundraising principles and customer service best practices.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Willingness to work in the office at least two days per week and to accommodate evening and weekend hours as needed.
