Position: Production Associate

Starting Wage: $19.50 per hour

Shift Availability: 12-hour shifts from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 6 a.m.

Location: Goodyear, AZ

Our facility in Goodyear specializes in the manufacturing of high-quality optical acrylic sheets, primarily utilized in advanced aerospace applications such as fighter jet canopies and aircraft windows. Our workforce takes pride in delivering superior product performance and quality, recognized globally.

Position Summary:

This entry-level role within our manufacturing sector focuses on weigh-up and packaging responsibilities in the production department. The primary goal is to ensure the highest quality products are produced at the most efficient cost while adhering to customer specifications and delivery timelines in line with Spartech's policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize safe work practices and maintain a secure workplace.
  • Interpret and comprehend shop orders effectively.
  • Communicate efficiently with the shift lead.
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks on equipment and the facility.
  • Prepare necessary items for production processes.
  • Accurately record quality control data in a timely manner.
  • Ensure productivity and complete assigned production orders accurately.
  • Operate forklifts as required.
  • Commit to a full workweek and fulfill overtime as necessary.
  • Follow additional instructions from leads and supervisors.

Additional Duties:

  • Potentially train new employees.
  • Actively participate in Kaizen and lean initiatives.

Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support business operations.

Performance Metrics:

  • Achieve safe and accurate productivity levels.
  • Meet quality standards to ensure a quality product is passed to subsequent operations.
  • Complete paperwork accurately and promptly.
  • Execute tasks in an organized and timely manner.
  • Maintain equipment within the manufacturing area.
  • Obtain certification as a forklift operator as needed.
  • Ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Above-average math and reading skills necessary.
  • Ability to complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner is essential.

Mental Requirements:

  • Good hand-eye coordination and vision are required.
  • Must be a self-motivated team player.
  • Awareness of safety considerations affecting manufacturing operations is crucial.
