About the Role

The Sr. Human Resources Generalist is a key member of the Human Resources team at Cameron's Coffee and Distribution Co, responsible for supporting the HR strategy in alignment with the company's goals and objectives.

This role leads policy and process adherence, manages payroll, handles employee relations and performance management, manages employee benefits and perks, and indirectly leads and mentors the HR Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities
  • HR Strategic Planning: Adhere to the HR Strategic Plan to support the mission, vision, and values of the organization, with a focus on attracting and retaining talent.
  • Policy and Process Management: Manage policies and processes that provide clarity for employees and mitigate risk for the organization.
  • Talent Acquisition and Management: Manage the talent acquisition process and the employee lifecycle, including employee performance and development, interviewing candidates, and making recommendations to leaders on hiring decisions.
  • Employee Onboarding and Support: Oversee onboarding activities for new hires and provide backup to the HR Coordinator when they are unavailable.
  • Payroll Management: Accurately process payroll on a timely basis with close attention to detail.
  • Benefits and Compensation: Partner with the HR Director to facilitate the annual merit increases, bonuses, promotions, and off-cycle compensation process.
  • Training and Development: Manage training and development activities, provide reports, analyze data, and work with leaders and the HR Director to identify training needs within the organization.
  • HR Metrics and Reporting: Prepare HR metrics and reporting that provide meaningful information to the business.
  • Mentorship and Coaching: Act as a mentor to the HR Coordinator to help them develop in their HR career and provide guidance.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements, stay up-to-date on new legislation, and implement required policies and practices.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional Human Resources experience in food manufacturing or a related industry
  • Skills: Direct or indirect management experience, ability to effectively communicate and implement policies and processes, high level of integrity and trust, ability to handle diverse human resources and conflict management issues, high level of knowledge of benefit programs, ability to adapt to changing needs, strong level of experience in Human Resources on an operational and functional level, critical thinking, and clear, fact-based written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Information
  • Salary: $75,000 per year with a bonus opportunity
  • Work Location: Shakopee, MN office with the option of working from home 1 day per week
  • Reporting Relationships: Reports directly to the Human Resources Director
