Position Overview

WSH Management, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to enhance our compliance team and oversee our tax-credit properties.

What We Provide:

  • Compensation: $29.00 to $31.00 per hour
  • Availability for after-hours support

  • Full-time position: 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Timely updates of Utility Allowances through the Tax Credit Rent Change process.
  • Review and adjust rent lease charges to ensure accurate billing for residents.
  • Correct any discrepancies in resident and subsidy ledgers.
  • Ensure the appropriate subsidy source is selected for residents receiving assistance.
  • Process Gross Rent changes for Project Based Section 8 properties and distribute accordingly.
  • Adjust lease charges for Section 8 residents based on Housing Authority communications.
  • Prepare Rent Change notifications for management to distribute to residents.
  • Confirm the accuracy of resident account balances.
  • Verify Utility Reimbursement check payments scheduled for residents at Project Based Section 8 properties.
  • Ensure the correctness of Rent and Subsidy charges.
  • Report monthly adjustments and corrections to the Compliance Manager.
  • Comply with federal and state Fair Housing Laws and all company policies.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • In-depth understanding of property management principles and applicable regulations.
  • Familiarity with billing processes and collection methods.
  • Proven ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong judgment, sensitivity, and adaptability to changing circumstances.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Exhibit professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in all job functions.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in resident receivable and ledger analysis.
  • Experience in financial management.
  • Familiarity with Yardi property management accounting software is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
