Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable Management: Review, prepare, and process accounts payable checks on a weekly basis, or as needed, ensuring accurate verification of invoices and proper coding of accounts payable entries.
  • Payment Reconciliation: Reconcile payments and monitor accounts to guarantee all payments are current, resolving any discrepancies that may arise.
  • Financial Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date account payable files for all supporting work, programs, and vendors, including preparation of necessary 1099s at year-end.
  • Expense Management: Review employee travel expenses for compliance, including charges applied to the corporate credit card, on a monthly basis.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist the Director of Finance and Operations with the monthly and year-end closing process, including preparation of the annual audit, and print and distribute financial statements to staff.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance and Operations.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred; or associate degree in accounting with at least ten years of experience.
  • Experience: Two to four years of experience preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel, and understanding of accounting system software, preferably SAGE/Abila, fund accounting software.
  • Personal Qualities: Attention to detail, organization, ability to multi-task, and manage work as needed.
