Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated and creative General Assignment Reporter to join our news team. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to develop story ideas, gather information, and produce engaging content for newscasts across multiple platforms.
- Create, shoot, write, and edit compelling stories for station's newscast using all available tools, including cell phones and drones.
- Provide live reports as directed by the news management team.
- Engage with local community members to build relationships and gather insights.
- Review material for fairness, accuracy, and balance.
- Collaborate closely with producers, editors, anchors, and other news team members.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A proven track record of working with current media creation tools and contemporary newsroom systems.
- Excellent storytelling abilities across multiple platforms.
- Strong writing and copy-editing skills.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a reporter.
- The ability to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
