The Cybersecurity Operations Leader is tasked with supervising IT Security Operations and directing technical teams to protect the organization's information systems. This position demands proficiency in employing various security tools and ensuring adherence to federal guidelines and regulations.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the real-time monitoring, detection, analysis, and containment of incidents across the network.
  • Oversee cybersecurity solutions, networks, and end-user devices, ensuring secure data flow in and out.
  • Utilize security technologies such as Splunk, Encase, Tenable, CyberArk, and the Trellix Platform.
  • Monitor and implement updated federal guidelines to maintain compliance with audits.
  • Revise policies and procedures as necessary to ensure alignment with FISMA audit standards.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring and analytical support.
  • Examine and evaluate system and network logs, events, and data from diverse systems and tools.
  • Develop and uphold standard operating procedures (SOPs) for monitoring and analytical tasks.
  • Act as the primary liaison for Managed Security Service monitoring and alerts.
  • Ensure round-the-clock monitoring and incident response capabilities.
  • Facilitate timely escalation of incidents to relevant teams and external entities.
  • Incorporate threat intelligence feeds into SIEM.
  • Assess and respond to emerging security threats.
  • Collaborate with the Network Operations Center (NOC) to refine procedures and services.
  • Regularly refresh and optimize queries and alerting protocols.
  • Deliver timely and precise reports on security incidents, trends, and performance metrics.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a Security Operations Center (SOC).
  • Expertise in utilizing security tools such as Splunk, Encase, Tenable, CyberArk, and Trellix Platform.
  • Comprehensive understanding of federal security standards and FISMA compliance.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to effectively manage and lead technical teams.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
