Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the ES software release process and performs technical reviews of application software development for MPE, MHE, and SS.
  • Within the SDLC process, the specialist performs configuration management, independent verification and validation, as well as software and system test activities tasks to support and participate in the release process.
  • The specialist will work with the USPS ES organization to design and develop MPE/MHE, including integration of the respective support systems/subsystems for the equipment.
  • The specialist will also support and manage the SDLC tools in place for the SDLC process, including customized Microfocus Serena Business Management (SBM) and Dimensions applications, and the ES Web site (reports and training documents).
Essential Functions
  • Participate in the testing and IV&V of various software applications and SDLC documentation that support mail processing and handling equipment.
  • Responsible for all activities involving quality assurance and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts audits and reviews/analyzes data and documentation.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in area of specialty (Schools and degree programs must be listed as US Accredited by a US board of accreditation such as ABET).
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience.
  • 1 day per week remote availability.
  • Experience using MS Office Suite software (Word, Excel, and Access) and specialized software programs.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check & drug test.
  • Candidates must meet eligibility requirements as candidates will be processed for a Public Trust clearance.
