Job Summary

SP+ is seeking a skilled Maintenance Porter to join our team. As a Maintenance Porter, you will be responsible for performing facility maintenance duties and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all maintenance and cleaning tasks as directed by the facility manager/supervisor to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Walk the garage daily to identify and correct any maintenance problems.
  • Sweep and pick up around entrances and exits, as well as clean surface area rails, etc.
  • Empty trashcans and submit requests for repairs or maintenance.
  • Paint areas as directed by the facility manager/supervisor to maintain a neat and clean appearance.
  • Replace burned-out bulbs and apply oil absorbent to oil spills.
  • Check conditions of safety items, such as gate arms, and submit requests for repairs.
  • Provide ticket and record gate counters to the Manager.
  • Keep an inventory of janitorial supplies and maintain a garage/lot sweep sheet.
  • Operate automatic sweepers, scrubbers, and other equipment as needed.
  • Shovel, plow, or blow snow from entrance or exit ramps and designated areas.
  • Report any unknown, observed, or suspected violations of company policy, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences to the Facility Manager.
  • Practice the Three Keys to Customer Satisfaction and respond to customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Assist customers within the facility or as directed by the Facility Manager/Supervisor.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or a combination of experience and education. May require facility maintenance, electrical, and/or painting experience and/or skills training depending on the job assignment and facility.

License Requirement: A valid state-issued driver's license, with a current address and acceptable driving record, if the individual is expected to be able to drive a company vehicle or drive on company business.

Availability to Work: Special shift requirements, if any, will vary depending on a location's hiring needs. If applicable, availability to work 3rd shift and/or week-ends may be a requirement.
