Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Porter to join our team at SP+ Corporation. As a Maintenance Porter, you will be responsible for performing facility maintenance duties and providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all maintenance and cleaning tasks as directed by the facility manager/supervisor to ensure a clean and safe environment for customers and employees.
  • Walk the garage daily to identify and address any maintenance issues.
  • Sweep and clean the entrance and exit areas, as well as the stairwells, booth, office, and restrooms.
  • Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed.
  • Paint and touch up areas as directed by the facility manager/supervisor to maintain a neat and clean appearance.
  • Replace burned-out bulbs and apply oil absorbent to oil spills.
  • Submit requests for repairs or maintenance as needed.
  • Check safety items, such as gate arms, to ensure proper clearance.
  • Check ticket spitters and gates daily for proper operation and accuracy.
  • Provide ticket and record gate counters to the manager.
  • Keep an inventory of janitorial supplies.
  • Maintain a garage/lot sweep sheet.
  • Operate automatic sweepers, scrubbers, and other equipment as needed.
  • Shovel, plow, or blow snow from entrance and exit ramps and designated areas.
  • Report any safety hazards or unusual occurrences to the facility manager in a timely manner.
  • Practice excellent customer service skills and respond to customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Assist customers and cover other duties as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous facility maintenance experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift and move 50 pounds or more regularly.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license required if driving a company vehicle.
