Drainage Project Engineer Opportunity

Volkert is seeking an experienced Drainage Project Engineer to support our Southwest Region located in Texas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze data for inclusion in Project Plans and reports
  • Design stormwater management and storm drain systems using computer engineering software
  • Analyze and design hydrologic and hydraulic models for Transportation Improvement projects
  • Permitting with different Regulatory and Water Management agencies
  • Assist in preparing project plans using CADD software
  • Contribute to the preparation of engineering reports and calculations
  • Prepare project construction details, quantities, cost estimates, and project specifications
  • Review project quantity estimates, details, and check calculations and drawings for compliance
  • Prepare project schedules and collaborate with multiple disciplines
  • Oversee project design activities and supervise production efforts

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering (Master's in water resources fields a plus)
  • Valid Professional Engineering Licensure (P.E.) preferred or ability to acquire within 6 months
  • 4-6 years of relative/progressive drainage/water resources and TxDOT experience
  • Experience with MicroStation, Geopak, Civil3D, Storm CAD, ORD, ICPR, HEC-RAS, GIS, and/or SUDA software
  • Previous TxDOT Drainage design experience and strong knowledge of TxDOT standards and procedures
