About Us

MarketAxess is embarking on a groundbreaking journey to digitally transform one of the world's largest financial markets, enabling a seamless shift from analog to electronic trading.

This transformation is crucial because our platform makes trading fixed-income more accessible, ultimately enhancing transparency, efficiency, and competition in the marketplace.

As we navigate this complex transformation, we're aware that there will be twists and turns, as no one has ever done this before. However, we're committed to making it happen.

Today, over 2,000 clients worldwide rely on our solutions, and we're expecting this number to grow significantly in the years ahead.

We know where we're headed, and we're looking for a skilled leader to help us get there.

The Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Head of Cybersecurity Transformation to assist the CISO in driving strategic change initiatives to evolve and enhance the organization's cybersecurity capabilities.

This role reports directly to the Chief Information Security Officer and is responsible for leading large-scale cybersecurity transformation projects across the enterprise, including the design, implementation, and management of cutting-edge security frameworks, processes, and technologies.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader who can partner across security departments, business units, influence senior executives, and lead cross-functional teams in delivering next-generation security capabilities.

How You'll Help Take Us There

Assist the CISO in developing and executing the organization's cybersecurity transformation strategy, ensuring alignment with broader business and IT goals.

Collaborate with the information security organization to adopt a forward-looking cybersecurity vision, incorporating emerging technologies, automation, and AI-driven security operations.

Champion digital transformation initiatives, integrating security into enterprise-wide modernization efforts such as cloud migration, digital platforms, and DevOps practices.

Represent the CISO and other technology executives to clients, regulators, and partners.

Support the improvement of operational efficiency within the information security department by sharing and implementing best practices and standards.

Lead large-scale, cross-functional cybersecurity programs across various information security functions.

Promote innovation within the cybersecurity organization, encouraging the exploration and deployment of emerging security technologies to counter advanced threats.

Ensure coordination and alignment across departments, including IT, product development, operations, and business functions, to drive the success of transformation initiatives.

Serve as a key liaison between the cybersecurity function and senior leadership, communicating the progress and impact of transformation efforts.

Influence and partner with C-level executives, business unit leaders, and external stakeholders to drive adoption and support for cybersecurity initiatives.

Represent the CISO in internal and external forums, promoting the organization's efforts to modernize security.

Help shift the organization towards a cybersecurity-conscious culture, ensuring security awareness and best practices are integrated into daily operations across all departments.

What We're Looking for
  • Proven work experience in a cybersecurity leadership role, such as Deputy-CISO, Business CISO, Field CISO, BISO, or COS/COO in the Information Security department.
  • 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong focus on leading large-scale security transformation initiatives.
  • 7+ years of leadership experience in cybersecurity, including building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Proven track record of managing complex, multi-year cybersecurity programs, ideally within a large enterprise or highly regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of security architecture, risk management, and compliance in a modern IT environment, including cloud, DevOps, and digital transformation.
  • Expertise in implementing security frameworks, technologies, and methodologies, including zero trust, security automation, and threat intelligence.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams and managing budgets.
  • Experience in engaging with senior executives, boards, and external stakeholders on cybersecurity strategies and transformations.
Preferred Skills
  • Ability to execute in complex and dynamic environments.
  • Hands-on experience with modern security technologies and platforms, including cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), security orchestration and automation (SOAR), and advanced endpoint protection.
  • Visionary thinker with the ability to articulate a long-term transformation roadmap while driving immediate, actionable improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical details into business value for executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex and evolving security challenges.
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to influence and drive organizational change.
