Lead Solutions Architect

Job Overview

As a Lead Solutions Architect, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting software engineers, system architects, and product stakeholders by recommending tailored solutions that align with client needs and limitations, with a particular emphasis on leveraging Lightbend technologies. Your responsibilities will include enabling partners, educating teams, and providing deal support through effective mentoring and strategic product positioning.

Key Objectives

  • Collaborate closely with Sales teams to devise strategies aimed at penetrating key accounts.
  • Design and deliver presentations, demonstrations, and solution architectures that are centered around customer needs.
  • Exhibit proficiency in engaging with senior executives, showcasing an understanding of business metrics such as ROI, TCO, and NPV.
  • Articulate architectural designs and their business advantages to a diverse audience, including Developers, Architects, CTOs, and CIOs.
  • Support Sales Representatives, Marketing, Product Management, and Engineering teams effectively.
  • Represent the company at industry events, forums, and conferences.

Core Responsibilities

  • Guide and assist software developers, architects, and product stakeholders in recommending solutions tailored to customer specifications, focusing on Lightbend products.
  • Engage with clients from mid-sized to large enterprises to advise on the integration of Lightbend stack components into their existing frameworks.
  • Collaborate with Sales teams to create strategies that enhance sales efforts in key accounts.
  • Assess customer requirements and clearly communicate Lightbend's capabilities to fulfill those needs.
  • Ensure the success of customer Proof of Concepts (POCs) by managing acceptance criteria and resolving issues.
  • Develop and present company and product demonstrations and presentations.
  • Actively participate in the feedback loop to the Product Management team, promoting Reactive and Event-driven principles.
  • Engage with the Java/Scala/Akka/Streaming communities by attending events and sharing Lightbend insights.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience with Java or Scala is essential; familiarity with Akka or reactive systems development is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Cloud Native Infrastructure, particularly Kubernetes.
  • Experience in distributed and event-driven systems programming, with the ability to explain the distinctions between legacy and modern systems to clients.
  • Solid understanding of contemporary development practices, including DevOps, containers, and CI/CD.
  • A passion for learning and adapting to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Certifications in Google Cloud, Azure, or AWS are beneficial.
  • Lightbend Certified Reactive Architect certification and Lightbend Academy certifications are advantageous.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to thrive in competitive environments.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience required.
  • Capable of conveying technical solutions and product knowledge to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Understanding of the Sales Cycle and the role of the Sales Engineering Team.
  • Strong knowledge of Cloud, SaaS, PaaS, and the Financial and Enterprise sectors.
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain focus and business insight during high-pressure sales negotiations.
  • Experience in Solution Architecture/Engineering within a consulting or development platform context; adept at listening to customer needs, conceptualizing solutions, and demonstrating tangible business value.
