At Lane Community College, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veteran Academic Advisor 2 to join our team. As a key member of our Academic Advising Department, you will play a vital role in supporting student veterans and their dependents in achieving their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide academic advising to student veterans and their dependents, helping them navigate term-to-term enrollment and academic goal completion.
  • Proactively reach out to student veterans and their dependents to offer support and guidance.
  • Coordinate with enrollment services to facilitate the evaluation of military training and credit for prior learning.
  • Contribute to other academic advising and veteran services-related activities that promote student success.
Requirements:
  • Two years of post-secondary education with coursework in psychology, sociology, ethnic studies, education, human services, or a related field.
  • Three years of combined full-time experience in a service-related setting, with one year of experience working with the transition stress and PTSD of Veterans.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with diverse populations and a strong understanding of issues of diversity and inclusion.
  • Experience and understanding of current state and federal veterans benefits.
  • Significant experience with military or veteran populations and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
